The Central Midlands SHIP and SMP (State Insurance and Assistance Program and Senior Medicare Patrol) is currently recruiting persons to become trained SHIP/SMP volunteers, to provide assistance to Medicare beneficiaries, especially during Medicare Open Enrollment Period October 15- December 7.
SHIP is an insurance counseling and assistance program for Medicare-eligible individuals, their families, and caregivers. Trained volunteers serve many roles. From providing one-on-one counseling on Medicare and Medicare Fraud issues to participating in health fairs, conducting presentations, and distributing program information.
